Getting to La Marcaudie

La Marcaudie can be found on the outskirts of the village of Monsac, just off the D27 to Bayac, south-east of Bergerac. It is easily accessible from the motorway network, with the A89/E70 being about 45 minutes away. It is possible to cover almost the whole distance from Calais and other Channel ports by motorway. Distance depends on the route taken, but is 550 - 600 miles from Calais.

The drive is long but easy compared to the UK. Motorway services are frequent and good, and there are also frequent areas for stops/picnics etc. Some of the motorway sections are toll-sections, but the entire distance costs about £10 - £15 and it is generally worth the cost. The time spent driving from Calais is 7.5 hours upward - we usually reckon on about 10 hours with regular stops.

Main regional train stations are at Bergerac, Lalinde and Bordeaux and some of these have TGV services.

The closest airport with UK links at present is Bergerac (www.ryanair.com & www.flybe.com) approx 20 minutes car journey. Limoges, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Toulouse and Rodez are also possible.
