La Marcaudie overlooks the picturesque village of Monsac, in the stunning Perigord Poupre area of the Dordogne department in south-west France and is home to its English owners. The property is rich is history and was prominent as a Resistance stronghold during the Second World War and was home to a famous French singer during that time.
Only twenty minutes from Bergerac and its airport, with daily Ryanair/FlyBe UK flights, and ten minutes to Lalinde on the banks of the Dordogne river.
The area is steeped in history, with Bastide towns, vineyards, golf courses and plenty of other things to see and do - or simply chill out and recharge your batteries. There are two nearby swimming lakes, one naturist and of course the Dordogne river for swimming, canoeing, fishing, boat trips or simply to enjoy from one of the many restaurants that overlook it.
In the grounds of La Marcaudie there are two self-catering country holiday homes, both recently restored with many original features and benefiting from refitted kitchens and shower rooms. There is also a recently installed 9m x 4.5m swimming pool with Roman steps and security alarm, terrace for soaking up the sun, shaded dining area and wonderful, uninterrupted views over the south facing valley. more > |
